CODA develops recombinant proteins for therapeutics and industrial applications using proprietary Protein Translation Engineering® technologies. Through internal research programs and collaborations with strategic partners, CODA will enable the production of novel, active high value proteins.

The groundbreaking work of CODA’s co-founders resulted in a discovery and an invention which are having a profound impact on recombinant protein markets. The original work of Professors G. Wesley Hatfield and Rick Lathrop resulted in unique technologies licensed exclusively to CODA from the University of California Irvine. These capabilities along with years of experience in E. coli and yeast protein production formed the core of the company’s expertise and developed into a commercial entity in 2005 with the goal of  solving complex protein expression problems.  Today, CODA applies Translational Engineering to help solve challenging protein production problems.
